As well as Rus culture, Ingriðr enjoys the study of other slavic cultures, and has several pieces of jewelry from contemporaneous and earlier baltic cultures. She wanted a headband/circlet to go with it. Looking at Latgalian circlets of this style, I realized that it was a pretty natural adaptation to make a county coronet of this style by extending the plaques upward.

There are a number of similar circlets have been found in and around Latvia, some of which have cast plaques and others use bent/folded sheet.

For Ingriðr’s, the spirals are made from triangle wire and the plaques are sheet brass folded with a jig to form a separate upper section to stand above the spirals. It is held together with twisted cotton rope that is knotted behind the rear central plate.
